The focus of this edition is energy poverty

The European Social Innovation Competition, organised by the European Innovation Council(EIC), has chosen as a finalist the Portuguese non-profit association Just a Change, whose mission is to rebuild homes for people in need. Among the 15 finalists are projects from eight other countries (Belgium, Croatia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, France, Greece and Italy), with Portugal among the finalists presented. The three winners will be presented at the beginning of November.

Just a Change was recognised by the EIC as having an inspiring vision on how to deal with this year's challenge: energy poverty. This competition aims to stimulate the potential of social innovation to provide solutions for society's challenges and promote sustainable and inclusive growth in Europe.

The initiative is promoted in Portugal by the National Innovation Agency (ANI), within the PERIN Network.
