The Technological Research and Development Incentives System (TR&D IS) and the Scientific and Technological Research Support System (STRSS) aim to support projects that aim to protect the following types of Industrial Property:


TR&D IS – Protection of intellectual and industrial property- For companies;
STRSS – Protection of intellectual property rights- For non-corporate entities of the R&I system.


The following applications for intellectual/industrial property
(Request for IP) are eligible:

  • Utility model and design or model national patent application submitted to the National Industrial Property Institute;
  • Utility model and design or model patent application overseas, directly through the respective national administrations, claiming or not claiming a Portuguese priority;
  • European patent application submitted to the National Industrial Property Institute (regardless of whether or not it claims priority of a Portuguese application) or, alternatively, to the European Patents Organisation, provided that it claims priority of a Portuguese patent application or utility model;
  • International patent application submitted to the National Industrial Property Institute (regardless of whether or not it claims priority of a Portuguese application) or, alternatively, to the European Patents Organisation or to the World Intellectual Property Organization, provided that it claims priority of a Portuguese patent application or utility model;
  • Community design or model application submitted to the Domestic Market Harmonisation Institute.

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS
Via the 2020 Platform
