This is a project funded by the European Commission through the research and innovation programme, Horizon 2020, whose strategic objectives are:

  • To build a solid network of skills centres that facilitate the sharing of knowledge and experience;
  • To support at least five innovation procurement skills centres to increase their impact, area of influence and improve service delivery to public buyers;
  • To create five new skills centres for innovation procurement, progressively assisting them in supporting public buyers;
  • To support all skills centres to develop expertise in cross-border cooperation and joint procurement;
  • Share the tools used and the results achieved by the European skills centres, under the scope of Procure2Innovate. This action will be critical if more public buyers and other stakeholders are to reach higher levels of knowledge about acquiring innovation;
  • Involve the stakeholders  that are part of this project.

Stakeholders

Procure2Innovate has 19 partners from 10 European countries.

Germany, Austria, Spain, Estonia, Greece, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal and Sweden are the 10 countries that make up the consortium assembled in this project and whose skills centres will receive greater institutional support for the acquisition of public procurement of innovation.

PROCURE+:

This project runs in parallel to Procure2Innovate and aims to organise, annually, a European award to distinguish the best public procurement of innovation.

Public purchases who have received support and backing from the skills centres can apply to the Procure+ Awards . This award will also be an opportunity to publicly acknowledge the work of the European skills centres.
