Technology Transfer Offices (TTO) are structures responsible for technology transfer and valorization activities within Higher Education Institutions (HEI). These offices play a crucial role in valuing the knowledge produced in research centers and laboratories, providing researchers, students, and teachers with an important skills base to support the development of new business models and the establishment of local and international partnerships for commercializing the results of public funded research activities.
As part of its mission, the National Agency for Innovation (ANI) supports the activities of HEI by sharing best practices and promoting a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, as well as professionalizing technology transference.
The TTO Network, established by ANI, aims to identify, map, and connect national TTO within public and private HEI´s. The Network adopts an holistic approach to technology transfer by offering expertise in four interconnected areas, capturing a complex value chain. These areas include:
