The “Technological Research and Development” incentives system (TR&D IS) and the Scientific and Technological Research Support System (STRSS) aim to support the internationalisation of R&D by encouraging companies and all of the R&I system entities to participate in European research and innovation programmes, particularly Horizon 2020.

Horizon 2020 is the European Commission's Framework Programme for Research and Innovation funding, in force between 2014 and 2020.

The European Commission's Framework Programmes are the main instruments for funding research and innovation in Europe. They were created with the aim of creating a true internal market for science and technology for building the future of Europe.

TR&D FRAMEWORK PROGRAMME PROMOTION OFFICE

In Portugal the FPPO (TR&D Framework Programme Promotion Office) is responsible for monitoring the science and technology community’s participation in European Union programmes, and makes sure that information related to the implementation of these programmes is compiled and circulated.
