"INOV 4 COVID-19" Invitation

FRAMEWORK

Given the declaration of the state of emergency in the country as a result of the epidemiological situation caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus and COVID-19 disease, and within the framework of the Resolution of the Council of Ministers (RCM 24/2020) of 14 April, the Agência Nacional de Inovação, S.A. (ANI, S.A), in collaboration with the Agency for Clinical Research and Biomedical Innovation (AICIB), provides support and reimbursable funding for the immediate development of ongoing R&D and technological innovation projects and initiatives developed by the Interface Centres and Collaborative Laboratories, which meet the immediate and medium-term needs of the SNS (Portuguese National Health Service).

Interface Centres (TIC) and Collaborative Laboratories (CoLAB).

FINANCING

The budget available is 4 million euros.

SELECTED PROJECTS

1. 'Atena' Project | CEiiA

Design, production and industrialisation of an easy to assemble invasive medical ventilator and decentralised production, for hospital environment, with design, testing and preparation of the industrialisation process in Portugal. Estimated production of 1,500 ventilators for the year 2020.

2.Calçado Solidário @FOOTURE Project | CTCP

An initiative that mobilises and involves companies in the footwear sector and the plastic and fashion component sectors, whose main objective is the certification of personal protective equipment (PPE), including footwear, masks and visors.

3. Covid-19 Tests | iBET

Providing faster and cheaper Covid-19 tests, which will increase current capacity up to six times worldwide, by replacing the qRT-PCR-based method with a more sensitive method that uses more basic and cheaper reagents and equipment.
