The National Innovation Agency’s mission is to promote technology and knowledge transfer through greater and better collaboration between companies and institutions producing advanced knowledge and R&D.

ANI promotes the funding of R&D and collaborative innovation projects, in particular through the analysis of applications submitted to the various Portugal 2020 instruments, which generally involve experts from outwith the ANI in these analyses.
